Obituary
OOFOS’ Duncan Finigan

Footwear industry veteran and global head of marketing and brand management at Oofos Duncan Finigan passed away on May 26. She was 59. Finigan had worked tirelessly during her Oofos tenure to raise money for breast cancer research  and created the firm’s Project Pink program.

The first employee at Braintree, MA-based Oofos, Finigan had a long career in footwear, having worked at Reebok, Atsco Footwear Group and Stride Rite, among others.

In an email message to Oofos customers last week, the company remembered its champion of the cause. “If it were up to Duncan, every single person on the planet would know about Project Pink because she understood how many people are touched by breast cancer. She started this fight knowing the only thing holding researchers back from finding a cure was funding, and in her honor, we will not stop until that’s done. Her legacy will live on through Project Pink and through the lives of every person she touched — which is more than we can count.”

She is survived by her husband and four sons. Donations may be made to Duncan’s Pan Mass Challenge Fund for the benefit of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at 77 4th Avenue, Needham, MA 02493 (https://donate.pmc.org/DF0219).
