Philly-based run specialty chain Philadelphia Runner opened its fifth location last month with a 2,000-square-foot location in the King of Prussia mall. Owner Ross Martinson said Nike Vaporflys and On Running styles, as well as giftable items like Aftershokz headphones, Garmin fitness trackers and Hypervolt massage devices have been strong.
The location is the retailer’s first in a traditional indoor mall space, and it offered a new window into the holiday shopping rush.
“Black Friday was one of the craziest days I've ever seen. The mall was already packed when we opened at 6am,” he said.
“It's been fun to see how many mall shoppers are into running and working out — they have been really welcoming,” Martinson said.
